Description

“Ryoba” translates to “double-edged” in Japanese, describing its two-sided blade: one edge with rip teeth for cutting along the grain, and the other with crosscut teeth for cutting across it. This configuration makes the Ryoba one of the most versatile saws in any workshop.

The Temple Tool Co. Ryoba features a 240mm (9.5”) SK85 Japanese tool steel blade, considered the standard size for general-purpose use. We have carefully designed the TPI and tooth geometry to deliver exceptional balance, making this saw equally effective at resizing stock and tackling medium to large joinery. The 0.48mm (0.019”) thin blade ensures accuracy without compromising strength, while premium brass hardware allows for simple blade replacement when needed.

The Japanese Wingnut hardwood handle, stained a rich dark brown and accented with natural rattan, provides comfort, grip, and timeless elegance. Crafted in Japan, this Ryoba blends legendary craftsmanship with Western-inspired aesthetics, offering woodworkers a dependable and indispensable tool for everyday use.
